Privacy Policy
Trip2China · Last updated: October 19, 2026
Trip2China ("we", "us", "our") operates this website and provides small-group inbound travel services to China for travelers based in North America. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using our website or booking a trip with us, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us and information collected automatically as you browse.
Information you provide:
- Your full name, preferred travel date, and number of travelers (collected in the booking form on each tour page).
- Your email address and WhatsApp / phone number, used to confirm your booking and communicate about your trip.
- Travel preferences you tell us about — such as dietary needs, accessibility requirements, rooming preferences, or special occasions.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
Information collected automatically:
- Basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, used to keep the website working and secure.
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 7).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information only to:
- Reserve and confirm your tour, hold your deposit, and prepare your travel documents.
- Communicate with you by email and WhatsApp before, during, and after your trip — including 24/7 emergency support while you are traveling.
- Coordinate with our trusted local partners in China: ground operators, English-speaking guides, inspected hotels, and travel insurance providers, solely to deliver your itinerary.
- Respond to your questions and improve our website and tour offerings.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud or unauthorized activity.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it to third-party marketers.
3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We share personal information only with the service providers who need it to run your trip, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Local ground operators, tour guides, and drivers in China, who need your names and hotel details to run the day-by-day itinerary.
- Hotels and cruise operators, for reservation and check-in.
- Stripe, for payment processing.
- Travel insurance providers, when you purchase insurance through us.
- Legal or government authorities, when required by law or to protect our legal rights.
We are owned and operated by a licensed China-based travel agency, with a dedicated English-speaking consultant based in North America. Your information may be transferred between our U.S.-based consultant team and our China operations to deliver your trip.
4. Payment Processing
Deposits and final payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. on its secure hosted checkout page. We never receive, store, or have access to your full credit card number, CVV, or banking credentials. Stripe's handling of your payment data is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy, available at stripe.com.
5. Data Retention
We keep your booking information only as long as needed to deliver your trip and to satisfy legal, tax, and insurance record-keeping requirements — typically up to 7 years after your tour ends. After that, your personal information is deleted or anonymized. Marketing contact details are removed whenever you ask us to stop contacting you.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live (including California under CCPA/CPRA and EU/UK travelers under GDPR), you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to records we are legally required to keep.
- Opt out of any marketing communications at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at service@trip2china.com. We will respond within 30 days. We do not sell your personal information.
7. Cookies and Tracking
We use a minimal set of cookies to keep the website working and to understand aggregated, anonymous usage (such as which tour pages are viewed). We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; the booking form may not work correctly if essential cookies are disabled.
8. International Data Transfers
Because our service takes place in China, your information is processed both in the United States (your consultant) and in China (operators, guides, and hotels). We transfer personal information only to partners who are contractually required to protect it to a standard comparable to U.S. and EU privacy law.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — including encrypted payment pages handled by Stripe and access limited to staff who need the information to run your trip. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your information.
10. Children's Privacy
Our tours are booked by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Children traveling as part of a family group are registered and managed by the booking adult.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our services or legal requirements change. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest version. Material changes will be noticed on this page or by email to existing customers.
